A:1: Transforming the file of WORD, PDF or HTML into TXT format, then use the STK Maker to process conversion. 2. Firstly, open the file(s) of WORD, PDF or HTML, and STK Maker simultaneously. Then copy the selected words or characters in WORD, PDF or HTML files, and paste them into the editing area of STK Maker. |

3、How to convert a group of pictures to STK book？ |
|
A: First is setting a new file, and copy all of the pictures into this file. Then use editing software – STK Maker to do the conversions |

4、Why there is none classification for STAReBOOK? |
|
A: 1. Installing appropriate eREAD software from attached disk then operating reader. 2. Connecting STAReBOOK and computer via supplied cable, and open up the eREAD Reader. In the column of STAReBOOK, the related information about device will be listed. 3. Enter the bookshelf, and click‘create category’, and type in information, the files of this category will be appeared in the section of bookshelf. |

5、How to install the STK books into STAReBOOK |
|
A:Choose the category of the books that you want to install, click ‘install file’ and select the STK Books. Then the installed books will appear in your categories. (Clicking Shift and choosing books would be available for installing books in volume. |

6、Why the data transfers to STAReBOOK is so slow? |
|
A: That is because while transferring ebooks into STAReBOOK by eREAD, some of the initial programs will be processing at the same time, for example paging ebooks. It is the reason why this process is slower than general copying. However, these programs will provide more extra functions afterward, i.e. page-skipping and bookmark which would be very convenience for users. |
|
7、Why the response of internal bookshelf is slow, and sometimes the crash will happen? |
|
A: That would be because the internal bookshelf files is damaged, please upgrade the software to Version 1.2, and use eREAD RM614 or above edition to reinstall the books. While the disk of‘STAReBOOK’ is shown on your computer, and after clicking, the dialogue box jumps out and shows: It means the faults exist. Please click yes at that time, and re-format your bookshelf. Thus the problem will be solved.

二、 Operation Process |

1、Why the reading effect of plain text is not good? |
|
A: That is because you have not adjusted the best space for row (R) and char (C). Would you please download eREAD software: Complete 3.0 RM614 or Simplified RM510. Then choose ‘STK Maker’from‘My Book Shelf’column to do adjustment (it is available for text files, STK files, and TXT files). This software is pre-set the best row (R) and char (C) space, Horizontal Published: R—14, C—2; Vertical Published: R—2, C—14. |

2、How to know whether there is page number of a book ? |
|
Ａ：The lists of books in STAReBOOK’s ‘bookshelf’section will display the related information about this book such as Book Name, Author, Total Page Number, File Size. While ‘0 page’ is showing, it means there is no page number for this book. |
|
3、How to add page number for STK Files? |
|
A: There are two approaches: 1. The User Guide Disk contains the STK Transformer. Click ‘original files’(the STK book without page, and then click the ‘target files’to save the route. Finally click ‘Making’. The paging will be done. 2. According to the option: 'My Book Shelf - eBOOK' of eREAD 3.0 Reader Software, page number could be built while transferring STK ebooks into STAReBOOK automatically. Here we suggest using eREAD software, as is more convenient. |

4、The Guidance for Page Skipping Function? |
|
A: The function -- 'Skip To' of STAReBOOK is only valid for STK files that have page number. Press the button of Confirm while reading, the option of Page Skipping will jump out. After selecting, enter the page number, the Page Skipping will start working immediately |
|
5、If entering the wrong page number while page skipping, what can I do? |
|
Ａ：While entering the wrong page number, please press left key of five direction pad. The wrong page number could be deleted. |

6、How to use bookmark? |
|
Ａ：The bookmark function is only support STK book with page number. While reading, click the ‘delete key’, the option of ‘add bookmark’, and ‘check bookmark’ will appear. By clicking ‘add bookmark’, this page will be opened directly by checking the bookmark next time. |
|
7、How to save the page number for next time reading？ |
|
Ａ：STAReBOOK will record the page number automatically for this time. When you read it next time, it will enter the page that you’ve read. |
|
8、How to use the progress bar on the lower ends of the panel? |
|
Ａ：Applying graphic mode to display the progress of reading, would let you know how much you have read. While you clicking ‘ok’, the name of comic and page number will be listed out. (The progress bar will maximize the pictures and optimize the reading quality)） |

9、Why the device will crash while reading comics? |
|
A: That might be because the size of the JPG picture is too large. We recommend, the picture size less than 200k will be better and less than 100k will be best |

10、Is STAReBOOK available for Font Zooming In? |
|
A: STAReBOOK is sustainable for five times zoom in of font and achieving by 5 direction pad． |

11、Can read Chinese Traditional STK ebook on STAReBOOK? |
|
Ａ：STAReBOOK could support Chinese Traditional, Chinese Simplified, and English. The switch of English, Chinese Simplified or Traditional Chinese could be achieved in Setting of Language. |

12、Why the screen will have black blink while refreshing? |
|
A: This is the trait of E-Ink Panel, which has serious shadow while refreshing. As this reason, we designed the option to clear these shadows. That is reason why the black blink occurs． |

13、How to use the light to gain the best reading quality? |
|
A:Due to there is no backlight, the light from outside is the only way to help reading. Facing the eBOOK to the light could help to get best display quality． |

1、Is software of STAReBOOK upgradeable? |
|
Ａ：STAReBOOK is available for software upgrading. In generally, there two approaches: 1. SD Card Upgrading, 2. Upgrading Online. For more detailed information please refer the section of ‘program upgrading’ on http://ebook.stareread.com/． |

2、How to check the edition of the software? |
|
A：1. The software edition could be checked via STAReBOOK. The user could enter ‘About Ebook’ in ‘Settings’ option, which will offer the related information about version. 2. Connect STAReBOOK and PC, in STAReBOOK column, the version information will be show through eREAD. |

1、What kind of panel does STAReBOOK install? |
|
A: STAReBOOK 6in E-INK panel, which a 4-level gray scale,the panel's resolution is as high as 800*600 E-link panel ,also called Electronic Ink panel ,is a panel with parer-like weight and thickness is 800×600 pixel 4-level gray scale. (E-INK is stand for Electronic Ink. It is a super thin and light panel, without backlight. The presents quality and vision can compete with paper printing. This kind of technology has memorable feature, once the screen refreshed, the power consumption is Nil. |

2、What sorts of accessories does STAReBOOK package contain? |

五、Problem Solving |

1、There is none reflections of panel while pressing any key, how to deal with this? |
|
A：Firstly, press the ‘Restar’ button at the back of STAReBOOK, then re-press ‘Power Button’ to restart. |
|
2、Can STAReBOOK charged by PC? |
|
A：STAReBOOK could be charged by 1. AC Adapter, 2. USB cable (it is could be charged via PC). |
|
3、How to deal the problem that SD Card is unrecognizable? |
|
A： STAReB00K is available for plug-out SD Card while working. If the contents in SD Card can not be opened, you just need plug-out SD Card and insert again. Generally speaking, this problem could be solved by repeating this operation once or several times. |
